This literally happened to me in my first UK post-lockdown haircut. I got layered and chopped into a haircut that was popular 20 years ago & that made me look like a mushroom (at a famous! salon, cut by a principal-level stylist!). I tried to be strong but an hour later I bucked up my courage & gritted my teeth through my conflict-aversion & called the salon. I told them I hated how I looked, even though I knew it was just a haircut. They were incredibly awesome and scheduled me to come in the next day & get it fixed by the salon's creative director for no additional charge.
